strap for assisting weak person

My grandmother had a strap that went under her arms and around her back so a person could help lift her up out of a chair. Where can I find one of these?

Hello Patricia:

I believe what you are describing is a transfer belt. It is better to use one of these around a person's waist in order to avoid pulling under their armpits where their nerves run through.

Also, it encourages you to to get closer to the person which usually protects your back.

You can purchase a transfer belt at a medical vendor as well as online these days.
