Proper use of a Hoyer lift?

I saw my mom being lifted today with a portable hoyer lift.

She was in an upright, nearly standing position.

The straps were under her arms and under her rear.

She was NOT in a sitting position, but dangling upright. It looked so uncomfortable and just not right! Like she was a rag doll!!

Is that a proper lift?
